My left foot blew up (7/17/22)

A lot of people are asking why I was in the ER yesterday. My left foot blew up and it was causing me immense pain. They still don’t know if this is gout (because my uric levels are in range), or peripheral neuropathy (likely not because swelling usually isn’t a symptom).

My nephrologist said even though my uric levels are good, my body is just prone to gout at this point, even if I avoid trigger food completely.

I woke up today in even more pain. Finally was able to get more prednisone (anti-inflammatory) and oxycodone (anti-pain).

So many good things happening (weight is dropping like crazy – down to 171 lbs dry weight) and urine output has increased (probably 1 liter+ a day), but then things like this happen and render me immobile and it’s disheartening and frustrating because I’m not doing anything to cause this. I’m literally eating clean protein, vegetables, fresh fruit, tea and water.
