Biopsy results (6/15/22)

Update :

The preliminary biopsy results came back and there is NO EVIDENCE of an autoimmune disease. This is great news for my future transplant. This means less chance of rejection and complications.

The doctor now thinks it’s from years of uncontrolled hypertension. Ironically I was taking my blood pressure meds religiously, but along the way they either stopped working, or my tolerance increased. If anything these meds were likely causing more damage than they were helping.

The ibuprofen I took during my 10 week “gout attack” (it started as a gout attack the first 2 weeks and then became renal foot). was likely the tipping point.

He estimates that my kidneys are 80% scar tissue from all the damage which is sadly unreversible.

I probably should have done annual check ups and I would have caught this sooner.
